Alexa with Apple Music as default music provider.

Hi everyone, I’m aware that Apple Music isn’t natively supported with WiiM, I recently purchased the WiiM remote and its great but I noticed that when asking Alexa via the remote it defaults to Amazon music even though my default music provider in the alexa app is set to Apple Music, is there a setting I’m missing or is this unfortunately how it works.

Apple Music isn’t supported via Alexa on Wiim devices no matter how you try to invoke it, so Alexa will fall back on Amazon Music

I am also puzzled, perplexed by this. On Alexa you can say “play XXX” on Apple Music and it’s fine, however on the remote it just says Apple Music is not supported, this is surely not a Native Support issue if Wiim is invoking the Alexa API e.g. works on the remote if I say play XXX on Spotify, appreciate a “technical answer” and if this is being worked on and I am not asking for Lossless….

Just my HO, the search, playlist, recommendations, moods etc is far superior on Apple than Amazon/Alexa Would just be nice for Wifey to pick up the remote and say ……”xxxxx” ….rather than iPad, search, airplay…..

This is entirely an Amazon issue and how the different music services were implemented. Clearly Amazon Music has the fewest restrictions given it was the first music service supported by Alexa and it's Amazon's own service. Spotify was the next but even then its support was gradual, initially not being supported on multi room music groups. Indeed, I still think Spotify isn't supported on Denon kit using the Alexa Heos skill even though Denon kit does support Spotify natively.
Apple Music and other services are implemented differently thru a more recent music API and don't appear to be supported by the Alexa MRM route that WiiM used to develop their Alexa support.

Note that you can set your WiiM device up in the Apple Home app and use Siri on your iOS device to play music to it in a similar manner as you would ask Alexa

Alexa routines may allow you to play any playlist from apple music, etc. from your remote control. (I don't have apple music so I can't check.)

I don't think the issue is the means of asking but the fact that Apple Music isn't supported thru the Alexa MRM stack used by WiiM
