Amazon Music Amazon Music playback via Alexa to a WiiM Mini only showing 24/44.1 for 24/192 track

Following a post on Reddit where it was mentioned that playback of a 24/192 track from Amazon Music to a Mini via an Alexa request only played back at 24/44.1 and not 24/192 as it did from the WiiM Home app, I tried it with with my Mini. I have the Mini set as the default speaker for my bedroom group where I am just now, and it shows as 24/44.1 playing a 24/192 file if I ask Alexa to play my hi res playlist.

If I change the default speaker to my WiiM Pro, I get the full resolution showing in the WiiM app.

Casting from the Amazon Music app to the Mini does the same and only shows 24/44.1 - actually surprised to see the resolution in the WiiM app as I thought that had been dropped when casting.

I unfortunately can’t verify this resolution on my usual Linn amp as it’s away for repair so I’m relying on what the WiiM app shows. I’m sure this used to work ok on the Mini from way back when bit perfect Amazon Music playback was implemented - hopefully this is just a bug that can be speedily resolved. As you’d expect, I have raised a ticket…

Could those of you that have a WiiM Mini and Amazon Music subscription please try and ask Alexa to play a 24/192 track to it and see if you get the same result? I’ve checked all the relevant settings and everything looks ok.

Not sure if this is what you're looking for but I'm seeing 24/192 in the WHA when casting to my mini from the Amazon Music app. I also tried it from the Alexa app with the same result.

User error, sorry. I thought I had checked everything but the Amazon music HD/UHD toggle under Alexa was off - an app or firmware update must have flipped it off and and I hadn’t noticed. Don’t recall factory resetting the device in aeons either.

Well, I should have noticed it as soon as I saw the strange "24/44.1".

In my defence (as you’ll infer from my post), I was in bed and just about to turn in for the night, so I wasn’t at my sharpest - I shouldn’t participate in the forum an hour before I go to sleep and an hour after I wake up. The old brain is rather sluggish at those times

If there is one thing you are missing, it would be hours of sleep and a cup of coffee. Always please try to have a full tank of gas .
