Hi everyone,
Can you tell me if I am understanding how this can improve my listening experience.
I listen to music via the apple music app on my Samsung Android phone. I have a set of Edifier MR5s.
I want to get the best from them so I believe if I stream music via Wifi to aWiim Mini AirPlay 2 and then to my speakers via cable this wouldd work right?
Would there be a noticable difference?
I understand that the quality of file received via wifi is better (in terms of sound) than a bluetoothed sound file?

Obvs, I'm a novice so pleasae be kind!!
Thanks for reading.

Welcome.

I'm fairly sure Airplay2 is lossless lossy 256kbs, so really not much different from bluetooth.
It seems the edifiers have either analog or bluetooth input.
I'd be quite surprised if airplay to a mini and then analog out from there sounded better than bluetooth direct to the edifiers.

Sure "lossless" was a typo in your post. But everything else I would confirm. This Edifiers have no internal DAC and the deviation via the Mini will for sure not be superior vs Bluetooth.
Not an answer for the OP and nothing where a WiiM is mandatory, but eventually interesting for others: For Apple Music users with an amp or active speakers with a free digital input I can highly recommend the FiiO SR11. Airplay 1 delivers CD quality and with active speakers it is a small and easy solution. For me the combination in a small room with KH120 II works great. A small cigarette box and two speakers only and a better than every BT or AAC setup.
