There are audio brands which sell streamers (with fewer features than the Wiim mini ) for ridiculous prices (2-5 k), rca cables for 100s, etc.

For sure - it has always been like this. Some audio brands are 'value for money' and others are 'price is prestige'.

Randy (cheapaudioman) has his brand in the influencer audio marketing ecosystem that some like and others find grating. He's just a guy selling his brand which gets him clicks for payment and he's built an audience. Well done to him, 'cos none of us have done it.

Some argue that a 5k streamer sounds better than a 100 dollar one because it costs more. Nobody' buys' a 5k streamer, they 'invest' in the box of electronics. They have been conned. The worst is that they then judge devices such as the Wiims as junk.

As a geezer of 69 years old I could afford to spend on some of this expensive gear. No point really as my hearing has degraded and I wouldn't be able to appreciate the sound that it may deliver.
I have to admit to that some of the top end stuff is so visually appealing that I am tempted purely on how it looks.
The Wiim Ultra sound is adequate for me, I really only bought it because it had an HDMI ARC connection for my TV. I didn't expect it to sound as good as a £3k streamer. It is what it is at the end of the day.
But it gives tremendous value for money as Wiim keep adding features that weren't there when I purchased it. You don't see that on many things.

As to so called " influencers", the pushers of cheap Chinese stuff are clearly in it to make money so won't give you an unbiased opinion which isn't a problem as long as you realise that is the case, everyone needs to make a living. I never watch those, in fact I only ever watch Darko Audio, well produced videos from someone who knows his subject. Any sponsorship is clearly flagged on the videos and I enjoy the quality of his productions.
People are too easily fooled these days by social media/ YouTube and make decisions based on what someone else tells them to buy.

What me bothers most are self declared more knowing Robin Hoods. Can easily be found in YT, the CAM is the most penetrant click baiter. Also in forums they can be found. Normal targets are f.e. gear above 1k, Apple or Roon.
Sometimes I am angry with myself, because me too often runs in the trap of a headline. But sharing this is even worse

A piece of audio kit is 'good' if the input signal it has been fed is reproduced by that piece of kit with the full frequency response of the original, as little deviation from a flat frequency as possible, and with noise and distortion as low as possible.

Yes, I'm happy to stand by that as an absolute, until someone can demonstrate in reproducible testing that something else is required.

It has nothing to do with how much that device costs.

So if WiiM products can do this for less many than some others, that's not being populist, it's just not throwing money away unnecessarily.

For clarity, I'm very, very, very happy to listen to any verifiable concept which says otherwise.

Where did you find a single word where I've bashed cheap gear because of its price? My reason to jump in was about the "influencer" and that I do not like to share such. My opinion, yours may be different. I wish you are satisfied with every single device you own. Hopefully so satisfied as I am with mine.
