During many years, I was using a Studer A730 professional CD player, which was providing an Auto Pause function.

When this button was pressed, the track played was automatically paused when reading the end.

This should not be too complicated to implement in WIIM player? WIIM would be the first one to implement this professional feature.

Why not...
but it would really need very direct access to the "while reading" feature... Otherwise, it might be quite bulky...

;-)

So, instead of playing a CD all the way through and then stopping it, you mean stopping it at the end of a track?

WiiM has a sleep timer that can be set starting from 5 minutes—wouldn’t that work?

This could nicely be combined with the Sleep Timer and Alarm Duration.

Example 1: "Play for 20 minutes and then to the end of that track".

Example 2: "Play the next 4 tracks".

Not exactly, as the timer is related to a fix duration, when the auto pause continues to play until reaching the end of the track.

It's getting complicated... The function pointed out by Dominique-t has the advantage of being easy to understand in use.

But very limited in functionality. Spotify has this option but I have never seen any use for it.

For a sleep timer it would however be nice to be able to define the duration and then optionally how to end the play (to the end of X tracks). Not that complicated :sneaky:

It's still just a gadget, an accessory, right?
Iike a fft etc
Perhaps there are more urgent things to accomplish for Wiim... in beta... to debug... etc., right?

;-)))

The basic function , which means "do not automatically skip to the next track", makes a lot of sense...
