Balanced out

for a lot of cases of people wishing to use a wiim as a preamp towards for example small pro active speakers etc..it makes sense..all the more so if there is distance
(or more classically towards preamps with balanced inputs...)

It's one of those little things that are missing, or not taken care of enough... which doesn't look very "ultra".... (and already the case in my opinion from at least the "pro plus")

Xlr will not improved sound quality over rca. It only helps if you have interference and running a long distance.
but in use of "preamp" the situation will have precisely somes reasons to meet with active loudspeaker (or mono amp as close as possible to the speakers)

It was not a question but an answer to "feature request".
This is a user forum where we discuss and help on WiiM related stuff.

If you want to raise a feature request, then it is better to do that directly to WiiM Support via the WiiM Home App (feedback).

There are also threads in this forum discussing what people would like to see in the next WiiM product. And balanced input and output has been discussed a lot before.

A lot of people been asking for balanced out without knowing what it does or maybe it’s cool to have it. Many audiophile in this forum would not get bothered not having this feature. It add complexity and circuit which add to the cost of the unit. A good shielded rca would be sufficient for vast majority of users.

I have the opposite impression... that more people , now, are considering the ultra in preamp with perhaps precisely if it is possible small active ones, see 2+1... I speak about it all the more since it does not concern me...

...after the stats...I don't know...but clearly this pro approach has become more democratic with cheap active 2 voices etc.

(ps dac with balanced... somes not expensives ...
the realization is not so expensive...rest assured that when leaving the Chinese factory workshop, only a few euros and dollars ;-) )

Even though this is a user forum, there is still a subforum called Feature Requests with a sub-subforum called Feature Requests for WiiM Ultra. What kind of posts should go here if not ... well ... feature requests? ;)

Posting something here is not an order to WiiM to implement a requested feature. It's a call to the community to discuss and upvote the request. Or not. In the good old days, we could even downvote really bad ideas. In particular, requesting a feature that cannot be retrofitted makes little sense if the request is submitted for existing hardware :)

The @WiiM Team started a separate thread for this:

Rather, it is very odd that only in the comments section is a downvote left.
Only in the troubleshooting forums, right? As this can be used to mark answers that do not solve the problem (trying to avoid the term "wrong answers" ;)) I find that (potentially). useful, too.

In practice it is hardly ever used. Just like marking good answers. :P
