Best Wiim pro plus connection

Hi all!
I have a Wiim pro plus, dac smsl d-6s, Denon pma-1055r amplifier in my setup. What is the best way for me to connect my Wiim streamer:
1.wiim directly to the amp via RCA
or
2. wiim via dac to RCA.

If using a dac, what is the best way to connect the wiim to the dac: coaxial or optical wire? Thank you.

That’s entirely subjective - your kit, speakers, room acoustics, preferences, ears and brain are different to everyone else’s. Listen to the different combinations and decide yourself what sounds best.

Since you already own D6s, cost is not an issue. If you care about the measurement, D6s wins even after its RCA output has 3dB lower dynamic range and SNR than the XLR outputs. Speaking of connection between WiiM Pro Plus and D6s, optical cable would isolate electrically between WiiM Pro Plus and D6s. And, WiiM Pro Plus comes with an optical cable, so it is no cost to you.
