on Optical and HDMI the Wiim app always shows 16bit depth but when playing with eg. Tidal connect there will be a change based on song quality.
At first I thought it was an error config from my Linux PC via optical but trying this on my TV via hdmi there will always be 16bit!

Sound playing perfectly fine for my old ears so it is only a question out of interest!

Cheers

Noticed this as well, haven’t researched or investigated why, but if someone has a suggestion or advice that would be awesome.

Tested Apple Music, and Tidal, while playing Tidal was displaying 24 bit, however, in the WiiM App - It still displayed 16 bit

Using my PC, through optical, it's set to 24/192, same, WiiM App displays 16/44.

I'm digging through the ol'Google but it's rather hit and miss at this stage.

Worked through my PC’s sound playback settings

Choosing 16bit/44 and onwards changes the WiiM App instantly, then, moving over to 24 bit, it changes over (sound loss in windows) but the WiiM App stays with the 16 bit - So I’m leaning to an app issue not displaying correctly

The 16/192 (image attached) is 24/192 in windows. the 16/96 is 16 bit in the sound panel

Hmm login into my Tidal account in WiiM app and playing a song did display the respective bit/freq
