Until now, I have not used the HDMI ARC Input on any of my WiiM devices to connect to any of my TVs, because I am not a fan of the HDMI ARC concept, and do not want to use my TV remote control to control the volume of my Ultra, or Amp Ultra, as they have their own perfectly good remote controls for this purpose.
Also, the HDMI ARC ports on my TVs are being used as HDMI Inputs, so I have been connecting my TVs to the Optical Inputs on my WiiM devices.
I also don't use my WiiM devices for TV audio all of the time, and often use the TVs built in speakers, as they are perfectly adequate most of the time.
A while ago I became aware of a SONOS product that has been mentioned on this forum a few times previously, the SONOS Optical Adapter OPADBWW1BLK, which is an Optical to HDMI ARC Adapter.
I purchased some of these from eBay UK based on a few comments on the forum, and not fully sure whether they would actually work as I wanted them to, but I'm pleased to report that they do indeed work very well for me.
The only slight negatives for this device is that in the device card, it shows as Disconnected.

The now playing view screen shows "HDMI Cable Not Connected".

The following screen appears when you select the Blue Question Mark seen in the above screenshot.

Other than the above minor issues, this adapter works very well for me, and has freed up the Optical Input on my WiiM devices, so that it can be used for other things.
