I've been having issues with wifi settings on my Wiim C10.

I want it to always use 2.5 GHz wifi network.

I go to the network settings in the Wiim app for the speaker while it is absolutely connected to wifi with great signal, I set a manual IP address and save it and then turn off the use 5GHz only switch.

Then I reboot the speaker and it always comes back up with use 5GHz only on again.

Is there a way to get it to use only 2GHz?

Thanks!

Hi

I suggest you submit a ticket through the feedback section of the WiiM app.

BTW, can you fixed the C10 network connection to 2.4GHz on the router side? (I only ask because my mesh router allows it.)

However, even if this can be done, if the 5GHz Only toggle is on for the C10, the Wi-Fi may disconnect. I will have to try it to find out...

Can you separate the 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks in your router settings so they have different names?

Better temporarily disabling the 5ghz band in the router, connect to the 2.4ghz network then re-enable 5ghz, and leaving the router to do band switching as required.

Sounds like there may be a bug in the firmware or app if it keeps turning that 5ghz only switch back ok on.

So I opened a support case and this is what I got back:

Currently, the 5G switch automatically turns on as per the software design, but this may be updated in the future. In the meantime, you can set different SSIDs for your 2.4G and 5G WiFi networks in your router settings. Then, connect the C10 to the 2.4G WiFi SSID to ensure it always stays connected to the 2.4G network.

Best regards,
WiiM Support

So what I ended up doing, as suggested, was shutting off the Self-Organizing Network settings and then messing around measuring wifi signals on different channels until I got what seems to be pretty stable 2.5GHz to the C10. Everything seems to be cranking along well now.

Thanks for all the help.

Cheers
