Can I disable Tidal Connect functionality?

On my Android phone, the hardware volume buttons do not work with Tidal Connect, so I'd prefer to use the Chromecast protocol, which does support volume buttons. I have my WiiM Pro configured to use Chromecast, but in the Tidal app I can only select Tidal Connect as the output, not Chromecast. Is it possible to disable Tidal Connect or otherwise use Chromecast with the Tidal app?

Not that I know of, and that's strange as I have no isues using my either my android tablet or phone volume buttons to control tidal volume.
The wiim is set for variable volume, right?

Yep it's set to variable volume. Maybe it's an issue with my particular phone (Pixel 5)

When you push the button and the volume change popup appears, does it have an arrow or three dot menu to expand the box to allow you to choose what it's controlling?
Both my android devices have an option in there called 'use volume keys for media'.
