Can I stream from a ProPlus via wifi, to a headphone dac or similar?

What do you consider an investment? There are products available under $100 or $150 US (many for much less) that utilize better codecs than AAC and SBC. APTX and LDAC are not solely the province of high end audio.
It's not only the headphone amplifier, if you have already a really good bluetooth headphone (like e. g. the Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless) in my experience you have to invest more to hear a difference. I use the Lehmannaudio Linear (around 750€) with a Cambridge Audio M100 DAC (around 250€) and a Sennheiser HD600 Headphone (bought via eBay around 250€) to beat my Sennheiser Momentum 4. So it seems to me you should first try for yourself to hear a difference between Bluetooth with AAC (not with SBC, of course!) and/or AptX HD.

Hi, my setup is currently a WiiM Pro Plus, with a turntable and cd player connected, and until now I’ve been streaming via Bluetooth to wireless headphones.
I would like to move to wired headphones, and to take Bluetooth out of the equation due to its lossy nature, so am trying to find a device that I can stream to via wifi from the WiiM, that I can connect headphones to. Does anyone know of any (small, it’ll be sitting beside me on a couch) devices that would be suitable? Would a wiim mini + headphone dac work (stream from ProPlus to Mini, and then Mini output connected to dac?).

Or should I just find an old Sony Walkman and use that? 😁

Thank you!
Hi, I find myself in a similar situation, wanting to use my wired AKGs, but not wanting to run my long headphone cable across the lounge from my Ultra.

What solution did you settle on if you don't mind me asking?

I use a Raspberry Pi Zero W piggy backed onto a powerbank and an Audioquest Dragonfly DAC but I use Lyrion as my server. Nothing to do with WiiM.

Thanks but that's way beyond me, I'm afraid.

@d6jg Have you got a picture of this setup? It sounds like a cool little build.

It looks like this. The Powerbank is about the size of a smartphone. The Dragonfly is behind the Powerbank.

It’s connected to my WiFi and works throughout the house.

Aha! The lights just went on for me when you said you could take it all around the house. Very cool!:)

Thanks for sharing the photo. I wasn't following the thread closely but see what you've done and like it!
