The same has been mentioned recently here:

Now I'm having the same problem. I can connect to the Ultra with devices that had been previously paired, where the Ultra in the device list on the phone. But on previously not paired iPhones and an iPad the Ultra will not show up.

HELP PLEASE!

Why don't you pair the new devices? After that, Ultra should also appear in the new devices.
My Grado headphones don't show up on my iPhone either, because the two have never been connected to each other.

Don't all devices need to be paired first? I cannot connect to any device via Bluetooth unless I pair them first. Apologies if I have misunderstood your situation.
Certainly, but exactly this pairing doesn‘t work any longer.

Give this a try, even if it seems unlikely to work.

  1. Open your phone's Bluetooth settings screen and place it on top of the Ultra.
  2. Press and hold the play button on the WiiM remote. The volume knob's LED will slowly flash green.
  3. Turn your phone's Bluetooth off and then back on again. (If the Ultra doesn't appear in the list, try toggling Bluetooth on/off repeatedly.)

Just found a solution - by accident though. I pressed the play button on the Ultra for a few seconds hoping to initiate some sort of discovery mode. Well, it when into setup mode and I had to re-add it to the WHA.
Having done that the Ultra all of a sudden poped up in the available-devices list of my iPad and I could pair them.

this is correct, When two BT device pair they each first "discover" the capabalities of the other before exchanging a key which enables the encrypted connection. Devices store these keys to facilitate automatic reconnection/pairing. Based on user experience in this forum reconnection may not be 100% successful between some headphones and Wiim devices

I'm glad that's resolved, but please note that pressing and holding the volume knob activates setup mode or the factory reset switch, so its use is not recommended. Next time, please press and hold the play button on the remote instead.

Like I said, it was an accident🙄🤣.
Luckily my settings like EQ etc. were still there.

Once I pass fifty, I can no longer tell the difference between 3 seconds and 10 seconds, so I make absolutely sure not to press the knob.😅
