Hi I have a Wiim Amp and have today received a Panasonic UB820 4k Blu-ray player.
The UB820 has dual hdmi outputs one for video to my projector and one for audio only which I plugged into the hdmi input on the Wiim amp, but of course as with everything I always assume will work straight away there is no sound.
Has anyone got this setup and can help with the correct settings or maybe it's not possible to do this?, have tried lots of combinations but the sound still comes out of the projector speakers, thanks.

It’s not possible to do that as WiiM devices’ hdmi inputs are only compatible with a TV Arc connection.

Tried both optical and Bluetooth both awful, have decided to sell the Wiim Amp take a loss, have only recently bought it, and get a dedicated AV amp, really disappointed I didn't realise this before I thought hdmi would work.
Been reading up on Google and still confused why hdmi on the Wiim won't work is strange.

I can accept Bluetooth might be awful but what was wrong with optical?

Actually out of the 2 I prefer Bluetooth, no lip sync issues at all, the video seems to pause slightly then it sync's really well, there was a real lip sync issue with the optical, which was what I meant by awful, probably a bit of an overreaction because I was getting annoyed lol.
However I am still going to sell the Wiim and get another Pro ( i already have 2 others).
Thanks all.

In the case you use the player for video, you can use the arc hdmi connection from your TV to connect to the WiiM Amp. And the optical output only for listening to music without the TV. That should work if your TV has an ARC HDMI socket.

Arc with the Ultimate unfortunately has been sketchy for me. Lots of dropouts and handshake issues. My Samsung offers a USB that I connected to my Denafrips Ares II pre and that too had handshake issues although sounded great when working. I’m now using an Arc extractor and that has been the most reliable. And yes I’ve submitted a ticket to Support that is still being processed.

Love the Ultra but Arc has been the one issue that cant seem to be rectified.
