Connect Wiim to speakers wired to TV?

I am a total newbie so please excuse how basic this question is. If I have speakers wired to a receiver and the receiver wired to my TV, can I connect a Wiim Mini to the receiver and stream music to the speakers when the TV is not in use? Thanks so much.

Yes, the WiiM should just be seen as an alternative input source to your receiver.
