Hi, I've own few WiiM devices.
WiiM Amp 2 pcs, WiiM Pro and WiiM Ultra. Before two weeks bought Vibelink but after week of testing return it.
So I want to AIO device such as WiiM Amp Ultra. But after discuss with a friend he suggested to check Eversolo Play AMP.
Anyone tested Eversolo and compare to Amp Ultra. I want AIO device so my other devices will be second system.

Will appreciate any help. Price is almost the same so that's not the problem. I'm very satisfied with my current devices but want to buy an AIO device, for many reasons.

Thanks in advance!

There is quite a different in power output so if you cant make use of that extra power then sure they are comparable to a degree.
Is there anything in particular drawing you to look at the Eversolo ?

At moment I’m using Wiim Amp which I think uses same class D amps as eversolo. Powered Polk Audio R200 without problems. So mainly look at Eversolo for the bigger screen and UI. Never used Eversolo products so I‘m curious is they have any other benefits over WiiM.

I have the legend version and those ring tweeter are transparent and never sound fatigued. It’s their third gen tweeter from the early days of lsi followed by lsim, It can reveal poor quality recording.

I’m happy with them. Using one of them
For my main system. Just want to add display and saw Amp Ultra and Eversolo. I’ll keep 100% one of them. Other still not decide to use it at garage or to sell it.

Eversolo will support hi res Apple Music and Airplay I believe, but it’s unlikely that it’ll support Alexa or AlexaCast from the Amazon Music bit perfect up 24/192 which I believe is still a WiiM USP. Depends which is more important to you, among any other differences they may have. Plus I I think it depends which region you’re in as to whether the prices are comparable.

In terms of display, has I’m 3,5 meters away my solution will be using a old 22 inch monitor with an android box connected and use the WiiM Android TV App.
It’s nice already but I believe it could get some further developments like lirycs, costumization of display (cover, variables to display and text size, color and positioning for instance).

Biggest issue is whether you can control both in the same app, otherwise is a pain to switch between Wiim app and Eversolo

However if you had a front end which recognises and controls both Wiim and Eversolo then it's down to the hardware, as the software side is the same.

Wiim Ultra screen is pretty useless so I can see the appeal of the Eversolo..or the Hifi Rose haha :ROFLMAO:

Plus amplification wise:
The eversolo has Class D, 60W at 8 ohms, 110W at 4 ohms

The WiiM ultra Amp has 100 W per channel @ 8Ω▪ 200 W per channel @ 4Ω and PFFB, to atenuate speaker load dependency.

I must upfront admit that I had never used Eversolo so actually have no idea about its app quality, usability, ergonomics, etc. But I used many streamers over the last 10 years or so and for me the Wiim is a clear winner in this respect. I like this platform that much that I actually just bought Wiim Ultra without any other reason than just a pure joy of using it? In my system I have perfectly fine (and some would argue that sonically better) streamer by Auralic but stopped using it at all and now I only use Wiim Ultra to feed my quite sophisticated main system (and do not really hear any audible difference:)). As a side effect I now listen to the music more or less all the time, which was not the case with my "higher-end" streamer, which was simply too cumbersome to start and steer. I am writing this just to give you my perspective: if you like using Wiim (which I understand you do?), I would not risk changing it to something else just because it has a nicer screen and looks (which admittedly is the case with Eversolo Play - it is really gorgeous!), especially if you already have other Wiim products in your system. For me the only Wiim's downside is a lack of Airplay - and from this perspective Eversolo Play was a bit tempting to me while buying the amp for my holiday house. But in view of all the above I just bought Amp Ultra. And last but not least - I really very much appreciate Wiim's approach to users comments and needs - they really listen to the community here and try to implement reasonable user's requests, which in fact is VERY unique.

Because...?

For me, the (digitally fed) vibelink sound the same as amp ultra.
So if the reason was at at due to the sound then maybe the amp ultra isn't for you either.

I think the OP finds the AIO device more attractive (like me). 😉

@St01kov,

Hi, Can you tell us a bit more about your main system configuration and sound sources?

Which streaming services do you use?
Does your system include TV?

For example, if the listening position is 3 m apart, the difference in screen size may be largely irrelevant.

If it were me..
I would choose Amp Ultra to take advantage of the ecosystem of WiiM devices I already have. I would then buy a small GoogleTV or tablet and use it as a Now Playing Screen.

In fact, I recently purchased a 32-inch GoogleTV for $130 to use the WiiM TV app. Alternatively, a 10-inch tablet can be placed on the sofa to display the WiiM app at all times.

Ultimately, please consider which device is most appropriate for your use.

PS
However, to be honest I am also attracted to Eversolo Play. If it is released in my country at a reasonable price, I might give it a try..

Hi, thanks for advices. I will use mainly WiFi streaming. For now not planning to use it for TV. There will attach one of WiiM Amp with Klipsch R-40M. No more space around TV.
Stream service: Tidal. Apple Music, Amazon Music. Room is around 24 m2. Listening position is about 2 meters from the speakers.
Thinking of buying Apple TV for the same reasons to control APP from TV. I'm from Bulgaria and options of buying are Amazon or other DE sites.
We have official distributor here but no idea when both devices will be available for purchase. From Amazon WiiM Amp Ultra is 604 Euro, Eversolo will be 699 Euro, so the price difference is not so big.
I've few sets of speakers and testing with all of them. Overall need something compact and modern because a lack of space.
Have Elac Debut DB63, Wharfedale Diamond 12.2, KEF Q350 which still no time to test and Polk Audio R200 which playing now.
Have a Rotel A11 and Yamaha R-N800A but no space to set them so I move to WiiM Amp.

In the future may be will find space to set them all, but for now need to reduce to WiiM Amp Ultra / Eversolo and one set of speakers.

On this one, please take into account that functionality now is quite limited - it just DISPLAYS what is currently playing, you may play / pause / skip tracks and control volume. It is not possible to e.g. choose music from Tidal or enter into Wiim menus, select presets, etc. So it is a (really big!) Now Playing screen, which is perfectly fine for me - I just needed to see what is playing. Maybe they would add more functions in the future, but I would not base my buying decisions on this (distant?) possibility.
KEF Q350 which still no time to test
I have them in my holiday house and tested them with Amp Pro. It sounded reasonably good (especially with sub and RC applied) and I would keep it, but decided to return to get the Amp Ultra. I had no chance to connect it yet, but I am sure that in view of the refinements Wiim had introduced (more power, op amps) it would sound significantly better. On the other hand - keeping in mind that both: this amp and KEFs are relatively inexpensive solutions I do not expect miracles (btw: the same would apply to Eversolo). But still - even with the Amp Pro it was a very significant sound upgrade vs. my inexpensive Denon AVR that I used before (now I have the amp switches for speakers and sub so I could use Wiim+KEFs+Sub for music ad AVR+KEFs+surround speakers+Sub for movies - works well*).

* also connected TV to Wiim via optical and Wiim to AVR via USB, so when I am lazy and do not want to switch the amps I can watch movies with my "stereo system" or use Wiim Amp solo as a streamer feeding music to my AVR.
