Q1, will TV work for controlling music selection while streaming the audio from the Ultra?
Q2, will USB to DAC and RCA from Ultra to subs have access to Ultra DSP for crossover, etc?
Hmmm, so my memory of this was faulty. It can display it (album art, time left, like this song) which is pretty cool and my wife uses that a lot. But indeed once you try to change anything it wants you to "Play on this TV". The phone will of course control the Ultra just fine so I thought the TV does too since it looks aware. My bad.
"Connect" is not a generic term describing that music is played on one device but controlled from another one. Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect and (still beta) Qobuz Connect are different, proprietary protocols.
Oh, totally, but the name is not an accident either. Spotify Connect has been a differentiator for so long that Tidal and Qobuz want you to know they can do it too. How much of the same stuff they implement is anyone's guess and it has to be tested. Here it looks like they could do one better.
