Sometimes I use Amazon prime music and I noted that if the HD/UHD WiiM app prefs switch is set to off, streaming goes 256Kbit 24bit 44.1KHz, whilst if set to on, streaming changes to 320Kbit 16bit 48KHz.
Anyone knows where downsample came from in both cases? Is from Amazon direct or locally done by WiiM app?
Just a curiosity never did obsessive tests...
Just to compare, on Bluos the same streaming source shows 323Kbit Opus...
I forgot to say that I know the purpose of such switch with full AM subscription.

I’d ask WiiM to clarify this - as far as I’m aware Amazon Music Prime only delivers lossy SD tracks up to 320kbps and I’d doubt if they have any variance within that. It’s probably academic, but I don’t see why WiiM should do anything with lossy SD tracks.

256kbit looks like mp4. Maybe a different format sent by Amazon? Just guessing.

Just to mess up, if I recall correctly Amazon Music app on iPhone usb dac connected, upsampled anything to 192khz, at least some years ago.
Anyway if I address directly my WiiM Pro from Amazon Music app, it shows 320Kbit 16bit 48KHz, maybe this is the native resolution from Amazon. Not possible connect with Bluos directly.
Also, the 323Kbit reported by Bluos app, maybe are the same 320Kbit approximate by WiiM app
