What DLNA server do people use on an Apple Mac? I am a Windows guy but an working with someone who is considering a Pro or an Ultra with the files residing on a Mac. They just need a server not a full player.

Does Wiim Home on a Mac need a DLNA server to use the iPhone app?

Thanks.

If they’re wanting to use their iPhone for files on the Mac then yes they’ll need something to serve those files out. The beta Mac desktop WiiM Home app would do that, but they’d be better off with something like Minimserver.

That is what I thought. I will keep an eye out for the new Wiim Home app. The only issue would be that the Mac is an old system. I need to find out what version of the OS it is running.

Thanks.

Audirvana an app available on MacOS to manage local and streamed tracks communicates with WiiM via DLNA.

Thanks. All I need is a server not a full player. The idea is to play from the phone, not from the Mac.
