DLNA Playlists problem

I have a WiiM Amp with 4 playlists set up each containing around 75 tracks on a WDmycloud nas. They were all playing fine but now when I click on a track to start the playlist it will either skip through the playlist without playing anything and just stop at a song down the list or it will start playing a different track that’s not in the list. All the songs play fine if I just play them through the music share button. I’ve tried rebooting and rebuilding the DLNA database and the problems still there. I’ve started a new playlist using some of the same songs and it’s fine at the moment but I’m reluctant to redo all of them if the same thing’s going to happen again! Any ideas please?

Unfortunately this is a known problem with playlists and bookmarks; most recently discussed in this thread: https://forum.wiimhome.com/threads/dlna-playlist-or-category-as-a-preset-or-favorite.1650/post-46254

I suggest you provide feedback through the WHA (More > feedback).
Thanks for the info, I’ve had a read through and it seems the problem is linked to rebuilding the database and the way the tracks are indexed in the playlist. I’ll hold off doing large playlists until the music library is complete- and I’ll write the tracks down too just in case!

That's absolutely correct. I had written a much more detailed explanation of the - flawed - process but it seems the forum search doesn't go back that far.

Incremental scans should be fine but rebuilds (a term used by the underlying open source server implementation) trigger the reallocation of track IDs.

I would still send feedback as it's absolutely something that needs to be addressed.

Yep, I’ve pointed out the issue via the ‘feedback’ section on the app. 👍🏻

Is this the post?

The post I'm thinking of stepped through the MiniDLNA/WiiM indexing process, showing how the addition of a new album can change existing track URLs.

I'm almost certain the post would have included the string 'MediaItems' (used in the track URL) but only a couple of posts are returned from a search, and I can only browse through the last 10 pages of my posts.

Yeah, I only see three hits when I search for you and ‘MediaItems’, including this which does touch on what you say

Still a problem today on WiiM Pro through UPnP (DLNA). Playing an album, stops after a couple of 10 or 12. Feedback sent.

Have you posted in the wrong thread as this issue relates to playlist corruption (track identifiers from third-party servers change over time) which WiiM have no control over?

I have a WiiM Pro, are you using the WiiM Home app or a third party control point?

I know it is not in the WiiM Pro thread, but a related problem. Do you know that the control software is mostly common to all units? And no… not the specific DLNA server issue, as that connects without a problem to WiiM Ultra. Of course I use the WHA, but the DLNA list interruption is not its fault.

Call attention to @WiiM Support and @RyanWithWiiM. Thanks!

I asked because I use UPnP with a WiiM Pro but it's not clear what your problem is.
As I said… DLNA server connected to WiiM Pro playing an album with 10 tracks. Plays 2 and stops. Same server connected to WiiM Ultra plays continuously full album.
