Does the Wiim Amp Pro really work with Google Assistant?

Because I am having no luck with it. I can see it in the Google Home app but all it can do it control volume.

Can't seem to get it to play/pause music. Google Assistant can't seem to even cast music?

There are no device actions you can link to Google Home routines.
There are no App Actions from the Wiim Home app you can use either.

How does your Amp Pro appear in the Google Home app? Normally, when you tap the Device card, you should see a "Cast audio" icon. Could you please post a screenshot?

The cast button works yes. But Google Assistant cannot control it. I've tried "Cast Youtube music to Lounge music streamer" and i get...





If i start playback manually via the Wiim App for instance, i can see the music controls show up in my notification panel. But even then i can't pause/play

My experience was the same on my prior phone, an S22 Ultra and even with the old Google Assistant (before Gemini).

Please try the following steps.

1. Enable Google Cast in the device settings of the WiiM app.
2. Change the device name as simple as possible. For example, "Bed."
3. Add the "Bed" device to a room in the Google Home app.
4. Use voice control to say, "OK Google, play music on Bed."

The WiiM Sound in my room worked fine using this method.

I'll give it a try, but I don't think it's possible with the Gemini (or Google Assistant).

I tried it, but it doesn't work with Gemini. Gemini starts playing music on the phone. It works fine with the voice controls on my 1st-gen Google Home Mini.

Google Assistant (Gemini)

I don't use the cast music (voice) feature on Google, but I have noticed that Gemini is not capable of doing some things that Google assistant could do. It might be worth changing back to assistant instead of Gemini.

Only volume control works for me too and I'm using Google Assistant. Haven't tried Gemini.
