Double-tap for song/music selection

I would like to see an option for a double-tap for song selection. Too often I touch the screen of my phone, or iPad, in an attempt to scroll thru an album or playlist, and the song I touched starts playing. I would prefer if it takes a double tap in order to select play.

If this is already an available option, please direct me to the control function.

Hi,

I'm not opposed to your request, but this is probably an issue I've never encountered myself. Smartphones and iPads have features to adjust touch sensitivity. Have you tried using them?

For Android phones, you should be able to find it by searching for "Touch" or "Sensitivity" in the Settings app. For iPads, there seems to be a setting called "Touch Adjustment."

Major streaming apps generally don't include double-tap functionality. As far as I know, WiiM is trying to follow streaming app conventions, so I think it's unlikely the feature you're hoping for will be added. (This is merely my opinion, so it may be incorrect.)

Yep, been there and done that more than I'd care to admit.
Definitely not a wiim specific 'issue'.
Maybe a double tap is a workable solution, but if you want wiim to even consider it then raise it as feedback via the app.

Thanks for the reply.

I also have a Lumin streamer which recently offered a double-tap feature. It made my streaming life much more pleasant.

I have adjusted the sensitivity. Will get back after living this way for a day or so.

Back in the day (by which I mean 2014ish), touching a selection on the Sonos app would bring up a menu of options, similar to the three-dot menu now. You could then either select one or go back to browsing. Changing that to playing immediately was the second worst change Sonos made to their app. Yes, it's now the convention, but it's a terrible convention that still regularly brings me grief.

I would love to see an option in Settings to control what a single tap does. It could be any option on the menu, or to bring up the whole menu. Leave the default as it is now, and people who like that won't even notice a change. Failing that, at least make the three-dot menu easier for my aging fingers to hit.

@Wiimer, as suggested, I tried a few different settings on my iPhone. Everything setting made the iPhone much less convenient. As I use the phone much more often than the Wiim, if no change is mage for a double-tap...

That's unfortunate. As @Mr Ee said, I recommend submitting a request ticket via the WiiM app's feedback section.
