Having enjoyed flawless performance from my WiimAmp for several months, I am getting intermittent dropouts over the last few days. Anyone know what might be causing this?

I think we need more info.
What music source?
What output?
Wifi or ethernet?
What does intermittent mean? Once an hour, a few times per song?

Thanks for the response. Tidal via the Wiim app. Speaker out. WiFi. A few times per song.

More dropouts with high smple rate songs?
I'd be tempted to blame wifi; can you try ethernet?
Failing that, maybe feedback from the app to wiim so they can check the logs.

I have the same problem with tidal on WiFi and wire too. I have fiber internet 1 gbps and WiFi 7 router so on WiFi I get 1000. - 900 mbps, so my internet is not a problem. I think that start happens after last firmware update. I do factory reset and there is no difference. That happens only on max audio quality.

When that happened my router show that WiiM amp use only 0,3-0,5 mbps, that is so small amount of transfer to play high quality music.
When all is ok router show much more data traffic like 3-6 mbps depends on audio file quality.
In my opinion problem is with network connection on WiiM amp device.

When I play music on my iPhone is no problem with this so my internet connection is no a problem, other devices working normal, only WiiM amp device have problem.
Please fix it!

Sounds like an annoying problem. Have you submitted feedback via the app (under settings)? That’s the best way to get attention for your problem.

I just got a WiiM Pro player and started having this problem on my second day of ownership. The highest bitrate it would go to glitch free was 24/96. This was both the test audio and Amazon music.

This morning I swapped out the optical cable thinking that the one that came with the unit was defective. Sure enough the different cable solved the problem.

The old cable would start to work if I wiggled the cable on the WiiM end. At first I was afraid that meant a hardware issue on my WiiM, but the other cable is rock solid.

An update in case somebody else stumbles onto this problem.

The new cable was better, but my connection would still lose stability by wiggling the cable on the WiiM end.

I had the unit replaced and the new one has no such issue. The optical output connection on my original unit was defective.
