Having bought a new PC, I have decided to convert all my saved music, which is in ALAC to FLAC.

I'm not very computer literate so I am looking for a free software converter which is easy (intuitive) to use.

The music is in folders in the format Artist/Album/Track and ideally I would like to batch convert them in one go and I use LMS to stream it to my WiiM Pro.

What are your recommendations?

Mediahuman Audio Converter all the way.

Totally free and the last one you'll ever need :)

Their web page states that it splits by CUE sheet, which it does, but not correctly, so the output doesn't verify with AccurateRip/CTDB.

It's possible everything else is ok.

You should be able to do what you want within the free trial period
Agree with dbpoweamp! Simply brilliant piece of software, has all the features you will ever need, within an simple, understandable interface. Highly recommended indeed, use the paid versions for about 15 ten years now, a license renewal from time to time to support the developers, they really do a good job with dbpoweamp.

Thanks for all of the replies, much appreciated.

I've started to convert my files using Fubar 2000 and transfer them to my new mini PC.

However I have a new problem. I recently bought a mini PC to use as my music server as my old laptop is getting old and causing me issues.

The new laptop has Windows 11 on It. I have downloaded LMS but cannot open it, as there is no icon on the desktop or exe file that I can see.

Any ideas on how to get LMS working on Windows 11?

I downloaded it from the Lyrion site.

Yes I have seen the "Getting Started" stuff, but it hasn't helped. It is a clean install on a brand new PCso no earlier version to remove.

A quick Google shows that I'm not the only one having difficulties with W11 and LMS, but none of the suggestions I have seen so far have helped.

It will have installed as a Service and should start automatically
There is no longer a Control Panel app
All config is now done through the web interface

If you are presented with the Material skin you get to Settings via the hamburger menu at top left
If you are presented with the default teal coloured old fashioned looking default skin then settings access is at bottom right

Probably better off asking on the Lyrion forum. The 64 bit version doesn't have a tray icon or control panel which seems to cause a lot of confusion.

when you ran the install did you tick the checkbox to start the webservice ?

run the install again and check the webservice box it should bring a webpage like this.
Make sure you open the webpage full screen or you may not see the navigation buttons

I'm not presented with anything. That is the problem. I've tried accessing it from Material Skin ony phone but that says that it can't find the page.

Isn't there an option to start it manually from the Start Menu.
