A few reviews around for the Eversolo Play Streaming Amp, with the WiiM Amp Ultra mentioned a lot. Here's one from Erin:

Seems to think the Play's pluses over the Amp Ultra are:
  • Bigger/better screen, with more options
  • Better build quality
  • Slightly better RC
  • Option of built-in CD player
But cons compared to the Amp Ultra:
  • Not as powerful
  • No PFFB
  • No remote
  • More expensive
As far as I can see, Eversolo don't have a version without the amp section (happy to be corrected). But if they ditched the amp and released a version as a streamer/DAC/pre amp, the WiiM Ultra loses all of its advantages except price.

Having said all this, I'm not sure what the Play is like regarding PEQ, sub crossover and integration, etc.

I'm sure WiiM will be checking out these reviews and making notes of what appears to be popular with the Play when considering their next streamer.

Yeah, posted yesterday

Edit: and as noted there, no AlexaCast support (nor Alexa support I’d guess) which makes it a no go-er for me and my use of Amazon Music
Here's a link for Amazon Music situation on the Eversolo.... looks messy 😁

My amp and speakers reside on the opposite end of my living room from my listening position, so a touch screen of any kind is useless to me. Any display on the amp of any kind would have to be the size of a laptop for me to even decipgpher what it’s displaying from where I sit. In fact I’ve turned off the display on my Amp Ultra for that exact reason - I’d have to get up and move to within three feet of it to see anything. I find doing everything from my phone to be the most convenient (which in itself is ironic, because I otherwise despise the notion of being a slave to my phone), and I can’t think of anything more I’d want or need for my listening pleasure that the Amp Ultra doesn’t provide. I could see the benefit in a near-field setup, but that’s not a need for me. Just my two cents - sorry, Eversolo, WiiM wins in my house.

There's nothing to suit everybody's needs. No matter how hard we argue. :)
