Hi Wiimampa team,

I’d like to suggest a new feature idea: a sound visualizer using the volume LEDs. The idea is that the LEDs on the device could react to the audio output, lighting up in sync with the volume levels or frequency spectrum. This could work as a real-time visual representation of the music or sounds playing in Wiimampa. It could switch to volume pot whenever the digital potentiometer is moved.

Hi @moderator,

Thanks for the feedback! I understand that it might seem like a small or “pointless” feature at first, but I think a sound visualizer using the volume LEDs could be a fun and interactive addition for users who enjoy a more visual music experience.

It could be optional, so it wouldn’t bother anyone who doesn’t want it, and it could add some extra flair for those who like visual feedback while listening.

Just a thought—appreciate you considering it!

I'm with @Mr Ee on this one. Not every request is for every person, and we never picked features to add based on their total vote score back when we had downvotes. Let's try to spread positivity, not invest in negativity.
Sure, don't rule things out. This is however a gimmick that should be put last in the queue of new "features". Let us get the many outstanding issues fixed first, thanks.

@Raider @RyanWithWiiM .. maybe this could be part of the 'app' including landscape and portrait modes, the app could replicate the basic wiim screen including VU, screensavers, funcionality buttons etc plus additional screens like the visualiser and more.
I use a little 8" android tab and an iphone for my wiim app, home automation ie lights, heating and other suff so having the wiim 'extras' on a stand alone 'device' would make sense and remove the need to modify the wiim itself, plus you could have it conveniently placed beside you to gaze at the visualizer dancing about .. 😵‍💫

The app isn't actually playing the music.
There's almost certainly no way the app could get the amount of info required in a timely fashion to display / visualise such data.

It could use its built in microphone

what about if you are 'streaming' from the device via say 'bluetooth' maybe.

@GeeTee
Don't get me wrong - if it were possible I think it'd be cool.
I just don't think it'll happen.

I'm waiting for lyrics first, which the tv app proves is possible.

You want a microphone listening to your room whenever you have music playing?

I'm looking forward to the subwoofer sync being moved to the phone/tablet instead of the built in mic so I can open the amp up and remove its mic.
