Would it be possible to set specific volume level which will be set on every start/reboot of Wiim Pro for Digital Output? For example, If you set volume on start to 20% level than whenever Wiim Pro reboot or starts, it always sets the digital volume to 20% irrespective of the last volume level user was listening before shut down or reboot. This helps the users like me who are not using Preamp in the setup and it will help protect the speaker from blowing out because of full volume due to some digital glitch or user mistake. Could you please consider this feature request, thanks.

Absolutely agreed. This is critical. I frequently listen to my stereo while I am in a different room in the house so I have it turned up quite a bit more. Another case might be if someone else was just listening to the music really loud and you didn’t realize and they didn’t turn it down before turning the system off. My old preamp, a Rotel, and my current temporary little Yamaha mini preamp both have the initial start up volume setting as an option. My old preamp went out the other day so I started using the WiiM pro plus for volume control. Yesterday evening, I went downstairs and turned on the system, and the music was blasting out at a level I had had it when I was not in the room. Not the most pleasant thing! Please, it would be wonderful to have the option for a default volume when coming out of standby mode since tSince standby mode. Thanks so much.

You can set the initial volume using presets.

Thanks for the info. That would be a doable workaround if I were the only one who ever used the system. Others that do, including my wife, her sister and their children, who come over and want to do their dance party type thing (more often than I would prefer given their musical tastes😏) will often AirPlay to the Wiim rather than using its native controls since they don’t have the app on their phones, thus bypassing any presets. Even my wife who does have the WiiM app on her phone will often just AirPlay as she doesn’t have the same hi-fi gear interests that I do so it’s more about playing the music however she can get it going rather than having an interest in learning and remembering the functions and ‘rules’ I may attempt to put in place regarding how to appropriately use the device. So yes, presets could work in an ideal world, but sadly that is not one I will ever live in.😀 That said, right after this, I will be setting a preset for the streaming radio station that I spend a ton of time on with the Wiim Pro Plus so I appreciate the info.

I also use this feature on my AVR so I understand the convenience. I have requested this several times but it hasn't happened, so now I use the Alexa routine to reset the WiiM volume every morning.

This may not work in your case, but If you know when your family listens to music, setting up a routine to reset the volume on time every day may improve your situation.

@WiiM Team, @WiiM Support,

Adding a routine function to the WiiM alarm can help with requests like this.

e.g.
WHEN (trigger).
- When WiiM returns from standby mode.
WILL (action).
-Volume to 30%.

We can make good use of the 32 alarms 😄

Well, they’d surely be the voices of calm and reason so maybe the number is higher here. Or thinking again, maybe not 😜🤣
