Firmware updates, how do they work?

I'm a new Ultra user. I was on the may 30th firmware release 5.2.718554. I experienced issues with using Chromecast and Mixcloud as mentioned a few times in the forum. As suggested, I contacted Wiim support via the feedback option in the app. Somewhat impressively, within an hour, they had pushed version 5.2.710354 to my device - which fixed the issue. As this is an earlier version does this mean it will soon get updated back to where I started or am I now fixed on the earlier one?

Hi,

It was probably rolled back to an older version as a temporary solution. Presumably the issues will be resolved in the next firmware 🙂.

Further to this 5.2.719053 seems to have been installed overnight even though I declined it yesterday! As this is in advance of the supposed latest firmware, I've no idea what's in it!

It appears to be a new version that has not yet been public released. Please check that your issue has been resolved. If it has not been resolved, please submit ticket again.

It all seems to work fine. I appreciate that Wiim support is presumably trying to be helpful but I am slightly concerned about forced firmware updates with no explanation about what's in them. I'm a former IT support person so I've had a few bad experiences with this sort of thing!
