Getting tiny drop-outs in playback of ripped cd's

Have been ripping cd's with a HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GUE1N, getting 100% accuracy using DbPoweramp cd ripper.

Loaded onto a new Seagate portable HDD 2tb ( STKM2000400) and playing through a Wiim Ultra. I'm getting the occasional blip of silence, lasts less than a second but noticeable, it's happening enough to be annoying.....any thoughts on whats happening? l don't think it is the Wiim but thought knowledgeable heads here might have some suggestions........

Just to be clear, the hdd is plugged into the ultra's usb, right?
Does it have its own power supply, or are you relying on the wiim's usb power?

Consider a Wall-Powered USB Hub. Those Portable Drives require just about all the power that an Ultra is rated to provide...

Yes, into the usb....might try a powered hub, got one here
