On the back of a thread on the WiiM Facebook group which was, as it turns out, prompted by yet another clickbait article on headphonesty, a link to this “ban” on ASR was posted. I think it’s worth a read - and perhaps consideration for the forum???

Must admit to similar feelings about AI generated clickbait sites (and posts) like that….

headphonesty has a few good articles and a load of rubbish ones. i have never figured out if they are just pinching the text from other sources and running through it with AI. Amir can ban whatever he likes from his site though. he runs a tight ship

I think the issue is that the rubbish far outweighs any good stuff, and like a lot AI generated content, it can take stuff that’s out of context and out of date and try and present it as factual and relevant. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve queried an AI reply for it to recant its first response and admit it was wrong. Headphonesty all too often looks like it’s trawling websites and for me falls into the same tabloid clickbait category as some ex-news websites . When someone quotes it in a discussion, they might as well throw the towel in as I feel it’s an admission of defeat…

Same. Unusable for a lot of things. Even if you state the AI's mission in the first prompt it still assumes a lot and is totally wrong often.

As far as I can gather, this is all AI does, at least from the perspective of public consumption. And it doesn’t even do that very well, as more often than not I see glaring inaccuracies. It’s a big reason why I have zero trust in anything AI-generated and the whole technology in general. I have no problem with any ‘AI clickbait’ material being blocked - my opinion is, until proven otherwise, it’s all marketing hype BS.
