Hi there

Another quickie from me. Instead of getting Roon I see I can "possibly" set up a folder with all my music on my laptop and access it from the WiiM Home App?
Well, I get so far as it recognises my laptop within the Home Music Share page, but I can't get it to find the folder.

I originally had it all set up and working as "Server" (the name of my laptop) and Music Library (which is where the generic C:\Music folder is located. All good, BUT, I forgot that being my C drive it's not anywhere near as big as my D: drive and it now has 2200 files but I need to move them or the folder or the "pointing to" in the App - can someone possibly guide me on what to do next in order to move everything over to the D Drive and get the Wiim App to point to that folder location???
I have no idea how I set it up before, sheer luck probably but before I fork out on a Lifetime licence for Roon I'd love to have it all within the Wiim amp as I spent a lot of time setting all tracks with ReplayGain.

Many thanks guys as always, I'm nearly there haha!!

Cheers

Best taking one of the approaches outlined in this recent post https://forum.wiimhome.com/threads/mp3-player-connection-on-ultra.6535/
Hi - thanks for the quick reply - does this mean it's not possible to do it through my WHA?? I can see all the files there on my C: Drive (in the app) and can play them all to the Ultra, I just need to move them to the D: drive and continue using the app.... as I say, I can't remember how I set it up initially but I did, and it works but I have no more room :(

Cheers

If you use the beta desktop WiiM home app, it presents its library as a server you can see under Home Music Share in the mobile WiiM app. Similarly, mediamonkey can present itself as a media server visible from the mobile WiiM app.

Ahh I get you - so either of those just act as a hosting point for all my digital music but I can still use the App to access and play them? If so, then awesome, thank so much, that'll sort me out - I'll go get the Beta DT home app installed and see how I get on :)

Yeah - give MediaMonkey a go too. I had used it years ago and had forgotten how good it can be, even the free version.

Awesome, thank you again - the files and folders are now loading in the Wiim Desktop App and I can see the icon "WiiM Home: Dragonfly" fabulous, presume it'll let me go in there once it's all loaded, but for sure I'll have a look at Mediamonkey and see how I get on.

Strangely, go into “add shared folder” on the home music share three dot menu and you should see a delete icon beside them.

I can’t remember how they got there 😂 ok no drama if I can’t get rid of them. But thanks again you’ve saved the day / evening 👍
The WHA lists all the media servers that it discovers on the network, so the only way to remove them is to disable the service.

The two in the screenshot appear to be the Windows default, which you can disable through Windows Media Player:
Code:
Stream > More Streaming Options: Block All
