First of all what is your source of music? Second, don’t expect 60 watt will fill rock stadium, it meant for decent size room with efficient speakers. If you want to improve things upon, connect external dac using usb and connect the dac to external power amp. Just use wiim amp as streamer. Thats what I did on ultra connecting it to parasound jc 1 mono bock and music just sing the way the it meant to be heard.Vocal are more straight. Dynamics are absent. Sound quality is ok...doesn't wow much. How to improve that in wiim amp. Or release an update with improved Dynamic of sound.
It has USB audio output as mentioned above by @Smartplug.First of all wiim amp can't be use as external streamer..coz it's dnt have audio output. Only input like analog, hdmi arc, optical and coxical.
The job of an amplifier is to amplify whatever the preamp gives to drive speakers. Quality amp can drive low impedance down to 1 ohms at varying frequencies. I have yet to see para sound halo jc 1 that can’t drive speakers on low impedance and inefficient. Some of us here are not casual listeners and want music that will bring an incredible realism. It’s true the affordable gear gets you 85 percents of what high end gear but those who seek every ounce of performance won’t mind paying exotic price.Better speakers, room correction, room dampening. All will do far more than any amplifier to correct the sound.
Or just buy a WiiM Pro and hook it up to your old system.First of all what is your source of music? Unlike modern speakers, which are often advertised as being 8 ohms but actually dip down below 4 ohms, the 4410(A) are still true 8 ohms speakers. As such, the power output of the WiiM Amp is limited, indeed. Luckily, their high efficiency partly makes up for that. Higher volume would really need higher voltage output in this case.I have JBL 4410A’s connected to my WiiM amp (non pro version). They can handle 120 watts without distorting. WiiM amp has 60. I listen to mostly vinyl records and have never had an issue with dynamics. I also have a 12 in klipsch sub with auto alignment on and room correction. Dynamics sound good to me. Do I want more power? Yes. Do I need more? That’s another thread id rather not be involved in lol
Indeed. Also a lot of music lacks dynamics and the amplifier can't do anything about that. Some speakers are not perfectly suited but it doesn't look like summit really wants to talk about his setup.
Agree 100% I don’t think many people understand how important speaker efficiency is.Unlike modern speakers, which are often advertised as being 8 ohms but actually dip down below 4 ohms) the 4410(A) are still true 8 ohms speakers. At least it's good to know that you can crank up the WiiM Amp to 100% volume if needed. It cannot ever go into clipping, that's the way WiiM designed it. Some people shy away from any volume setting >50 because they fear for lack of headroom. No need to ever worry about that with the Amp, turn it up to the max., it will always remain clean.
A sub is always helpful not just to extend the bass but also to relieve the mains and the amp from bass duties. The output impedance of the original WiiM Amp rises somewhat in the lowest octave.
Some speakers are not perfectly suited but it doesn't look like summit really wants to talk about his setup.
Yeah the OP needs to further clarify his setup, what formats he listens to and even what genre of music. Most modern productions are compression heavy to begin with.Indeed. Also a lot of music lacks dynamics and the amplifier can't do anything about that.
