Today, around 5 o'clock, I was woken up by the dog, and then I was surprised to see that the Wiim amp was flashing LEDs, like an update and even a subwoofer. it turned on, although there was no sound. I looked at it this morning: no updates or anything, especially since it's done through Wiim home. I wonder what it was

Even my devices which I have mini, pro, amp and ultra does that occasionally and wasn’t updating. It will eventually go to normal state like nothing happen. I just disregard it because it happen very rare and in time that I’m not using them. I saw them one time it usually happen early morning at a time you most likely asleep.

Hey, what do you think? Its a device coming from China and it is connected to the Internet to make everything so easy. May be from time to time it simply has a deep longing to call home and to do its duty. Just kidding 😉. Or not 🤷🏻‍♂️?
Quite sure they laugh about the Western naivety. They are for sure not our friends 😂 But as long as they provide free new features on a regular basis there seems to be no need to ask questions. Pathetic!
(And please: No one should come with bullshit like "such a forum has to stay apolitical". Nothing today is apolitical. People closing eyes are cowards and in the best case silly egocentrics.)

I would have hoped for some comments and expected some ugly ones. Emojis only?

Hi Team,

The device automatically reboots every 72 hours during idle periods to maintain optimal performance.

Unlike most connected devices, WiiM doesn’t require an account to use its devices or app, ensuring we don’t collect any personal information. We value your trust and are committed to transparency and user privacy.

Hi Achim2025.

I’m disappointed to see this information and wonder about its source. Our cloud service is provided by Amazon AWS, with servers located in the US, EU, and Singapore, depending on the device's location. Furthermore, using WiiM devices and apps does not require any personal information, so we do not collect it—unlike many other connected devices. We respect your concerns and encourage you to reach out to us directly with any questions. Thank you!

We have people concern about privacy thinking their smart devices are listening to them. That maybe true on some devices but if you’re paranoid you should avoid connecting on the internet. This will greatly reduce your risk. In fact, internet revolutionize the way people live. The founder of Amazon use internet to built his business and now one of the richest person on earth. He’s smart using internet that made him billionaire.

Hi @WiiM Support,

This has been a question I have been asking myself for some time, why do you claim that the WiiM device does not enter standby mode but maintains idle mode?

I see a difference in behavior between idle and standby, and in my opinion, the WiiM enters standby mode via the power button or auto-standby. (Actually, it goes into network standby mode.)

I would be happy to know why this is an idol and not a standby. Also, are there any plans to add an option to turn off network standby in the future?

Thank you.🤗

Hi Wiimer,

Apologies for the confusion. You’re correct—idle and standby are two distinct states. The device first enters idle, and after a set idle period (the standby period), it transitions to standby. You can also manually enter standby by pressing the standby button on the remote.

Regarding the 72-hour auto-reboot, the device will check if it’s in idle or standby mode (not active). If it is, it will reboot; otherwise, it will wait until the device enters idle or standby.

As for turning off network standby, the only downside is that the device won’t be visible in the app or ready for immediate use. To activate it, you’ll need to press a button on the device or remote.

Thank you for the clarification.
I understand.

Yes, I agree.
Pressing the physical buttons to activate the device is fine, but Bluetooth must be always on for the WiiM remote to work. (I believe network standby off usually blocks all connections.)

I asked here because there is a discussion on another thread about Ultra's power consumption.

Thank you so much.😄
