Identify the currently playing music for "analog sources"

For sources without metadata (e.g., phono/RCA input or radio), use the built-in microphone to identify the currently playing music and retrieve its metadata from the internet, so it can be displayed on the WiiM Ultra / WiiM Amp Ultra screen.
I’d really like my WiiM Ultra’s screen to display the album artwork and show the artist, album, and track details for whatever is playing on my turntable or other "analog source".

That would require a technology like Shazam. I would be surprised if WiiM would invest in that.

And why then use a microphone? The device already have the audio stream.

From what little I know there are open-source options that work similarly to Shazam, allowing the identification of songs through acoustic "fingerprints"(psyacoustid + AcoustID API + musicbrainz database). And yes, no need to use the microphone, the device already have the audio stream :)

I'm not trying to be disagreeable and I have no objection to any feature I don't or wouldn't personally use .....but ..... haha.......

When I play a record, tape or cd and want to see the artwork or information I look at the cover/inlay.

I completely understand your point—there’s something uniquely satisfying about looking at the physical artwork or liner notes when playing vinyl, tape, or CD.
This isn’t really about replacing that experience.
The value here is more about uniformity: making everything behave the same way, regardless of source, you always get consistent context on screen, making the overall experience coherent, smarter, and future-proof, adding a layer of intelligence and modernity to the system.
That same context can also extend seamlessly to the WiiM Home TV app, ensuring a consistent experience across screens.
On top of that, it becomes a clear differentiator versus other streamers on the market, making the overall experience more coherent, interoperable, smarter, and distinctly more advanced.

OK. Now put a Dollar Figure to this Shazam-like (or most likely based on the service), as none of your open-source equivalents are going to be able to service even a modest user load without insisting on a Commercial License or Per-User Subscription (given the sheer number of WiiM Devices in service).
What would you be willing to pay per month as another Subscription Service?? (Give WiiM a baseline value to go along with the initial concept.)
