I'm definitely going to buy a WiiM. But which one?

Hi, quick newbie question.
I have a Yamaha RX-A1080 amplifier + Elipson Planet L Gold Edition + Subwoofer
My first idea was to connect a Wiim Ultra to it to enjoy YouTube Music.
My second idea was that it might be a good idea to invest in a WiiM Amp Ultra for possible future upgrades or a mobile solution (Wiim Amp Ultra + bookshelf speakers).
But I was wondering if it was possible to connect a Wiim Amp Ultra to my RX-A1080 without any risk.
And if so, how would that work in terms of cabling and volume control?
Thank you.

The Ultra is good if you need a better DAC or more connections. If you just want to stream the Pro, Pro plus, or even the Mini can do that. The WiiM people will certainly turn out new products in the future. The Ultra is not the end all, and to my ears My Marantz Amp sounds betters than my WiiM Amp Pro. The displays on the Ultras look nice, but to me they are are not practical. Im always 12 feet away from stereo.

Unfortunately with Amp Ultra, the only digital output is USB, and your Yamaha receiver does not have USB input. There are no other output options besides speaker/high-level, which cannot be used for outputting to your Yamaha. The Ultra streamer/DAC is your only option since it has the necessary S/PDIF digital output options as well as single-ended RCA analog out.

Hi,
If you simply wish to listen to YouTube Music, you should be able to stream it to the A1080 via Bluetooth. Should you wish to use the Ultra for upgrading purposes, it can be connected via the Ultra's Optical, Coaxial, or Line-out ports.

Do you intend to remove the A1080 from your audio system in future and use only the Amp Ultra?

To connect the Amp Ultra to the A1080, connect the A1080's pre-out to the Amp Ultra's Line-in, then connect the front speakers to the Amp Ultra.

However, this will increase audio latency, so delay compensation will be required for the surround system.

Ah, it seems I may have interpreted your question backwards. I was under the assumption you were looking for a way for the WiiM Amp Ultra to stream audio through the Yamaha, not the other way around, in which case, take Wiimer's advice instead.

Thank you.
To answer everyone's questions.
I still prefer models with a screen.

I can't say whether the DAC on the RX-A1080 is better than the one on the WiiM.

I currently stream YouTube Music to my RX-A1080 via a Chromecast Audio, but I'm not entirely satisfied with this solution.

I have no plans to part with the RX-A1080. But I was thinking that later on I could set up another system with the WiiM Amp Ultra + a pair of bookshelf speakers.

For the moment, I only have one listening area. (RX-A1080 + Elipson)

The simplest solution for my needs would be the WiiM Ultra ?

If setting up another system with Amp Ultra is still some way off, then Ultra should be fine.
