Introducing AI Answers in Forum Search (Beta)

AI (Intelligence my a*se) is the work of the devil.

I hate it with a passion that knows no bounds.
Part of the issue for the uninformed is that they often take AI responses as fact and don’t have the basic knowledge to judge their veracity. All too often the “I think I smell…” video from the Chewing The Fat tv comedy comes to mind…

The biggest part of the issue I think is that the AI models claim that they will learn from mistakes they make but that simply is not the case. It's a static language model that can include newly learned stuff after a new model has been generated/released.

Models based on neural networks actually can learn from input without the need for any regeneration, if they are configured to allow this. Systems that are not based on neural networks but just processing and collecting data based on fixed algorithms are not even considered AI by today's standards.

Well in that case both ChatGPT and Grok are not AI. Both explained it the way I described above when asked about it. Can you give an example of a real AI (neural network)? I'm not an expert but an irregular user and don't like the way it often assumes things and all that comes with that.

The search doesn’t seem to support long queries which are key for advanced AI prompting.

AI now appears in dark mode too. Thank you.

I tried it out a bit. Sources are listed at the end of the answer—can URL links be inserted?

Also, it seems forum posts aren't referenced much currently. Is their priority lower?

Wiim ultra WiiM amp ultra Differences Comparison
--------------
AI Answer (Beta)

The main differences and comparison between the WiiM Ultra and the WiiM Amp Ultra are as follows:

1. Device Type and Purpose:
- WiiM Ultra is a high-performance streaming device designed as a digital hub for music. It focuses on versatile audio input/output options and streaming capabilities.
- WiiM Amp Ultra is an integrated streaming amplifier designed to power passive speakers with built-in amplification and streaming features.

2. Amplification:
- WiiM Ultra includes a high-fidelity headphone amplifier but does not have built-in power amplification for passive speakers.
- WiiM Amp Ultra features powerful dual Class-D amplification delivering100W per channel at8Ω or200W at4Ω, capable of driving multiple passive speakers.

3. DAC and Audio Components:
- WiiM Ultra uses a premium32-bit/384kHz ES9038 Q2M SABRE DAC.
- WiiM Amp Ultra uses the ESS ES9039Q2M SABRE DAC, dual TI TPA3255 amp chips, and six TI OPA1612 op-amps for ultra-low distortion and rich sound.

4. Connectivity:
- WiiM Ultra offers extensive audio inputs including analog (RCA, Phono), digital (Optical, HDMI ARC), USB, and supports Wi-Fi6E and Bluetooth5.3.
- WiiM Amp Ultra also supports Wi-Fi6E and Bluetooth5.3 with LE Audio capability and has a touchscreen interface similar to the Ultra but focuses on amplifier integration.

5. Features:
- WiiM Ultra has a3.5” full-color touchscreen, physical volume knob, built-in room correction, and supports various streaming services but does not support AirPlay.
- WiiM Amp Ultra includes advanced room correction, Post Filter Feedback (PFFB) technology for stable amplifier performance, multi-room audio, and smart home integration with voice control.

6. Use Cases:
- WiiM Ultra is ideal for users who want a versatile streaming hub with multiple input/output options to connect various audio sources.
- WiiM Amp Ultra is suited for users who want an all-in-one streaming amplifier solution to power passive speakers with high fidelity and advanced features.

7. Design:
- Both devices feature elegant aluminum cases and a3.5” touchscreen, but the Amp Ultra has a unibody aluminum chassis optimized for heat management and amplifier performance.

Summary:
- The WiiM Ultra is primarily a streaming hub with extensive input/output options and high-resolution audio support.
- The WiiM Amp Ultra combines streaming capabilities with powerful amplification, advanced audio components, and is designed as an all-in-one solution for audiophiles wanting to power passive speakers directly.

If you want simplicity and integrated amplification, the Amp Ultra is the go-to. If you prefer modular setups with broader connectivity options, the Ultra combined with a separate amplifier like the Vibelink Amp might be preferable.

E.g., when I search for recently reported issues with Spotify Connect, only generic troubleshooting steps appear. It seems to completely ignore recent forum posts..
(I tried a few other keywords, but the results were the same.)

Maybe a little ambiguous here re AirPlay - you might read this as the Ultra not supporting AirPlay but because it’s not excluded for the Amp Ultra that the latter does…

Yeah, as you say that looks like generic network connectivity remedial steps, and makes no mention of turning off the Spotify app’s setting of “local device visibility” which can more often be the root cause, nor does it mention the issues around Google Cast which we’ve seen recently and in the past.

Yeah I thought so too.
I think it would be helpful to have a link to a comparison table.

Also, when I asked for recommended values for RoomFit parameters, I only received basic explanations for each parameter. I was hoping they would refer me to posts like @dominikz's (which has received many good button) and introduce me to them.

Am I too greedy?😅

No, I think they should be able to identify popular “good” responses in the forum and use them to enhance their AI responses. I know I personally bookmark responses I know I’ll refer to in answering questions - maybe they could look at posts which have links to other forum posts as a start

Only a few words from me and I know it don't give a damn for many: Calling Grok or ChatGPT "AI" is one of the new fraudulent labels. They collect data. Not more, not less. 😉

Of course you are right.
But personally I try to avoid data collecting krakens like Amazon (thank god no amazon.ch exists and we live quite well nevertheless 😇) or Google and their tentacles. Not easy, but I try at least to minimize and I am not on a crusade. I know my limits well. 😂

:devilish:
Well, some of us do.
Humour is such a unique & often idiosyncratic quality that AI will likely fail to replicate in the short term. I suppose that with singularity not only will AI pass the Turing test but also the Comedian test. Then, we will be in deep trouble 😜🤖🤖🤖😁
