Introducing AI Answers in Forum Search (Beta)

After trying it for a few days, I'm disappointed with AI Answers so far.

Here's why:

- It gives vague answers that are easily misunderstood.
- It makes a lot of strange mistakes. A lot.
- The AI doesn't reference forum posts.
- There's no mechanism to train the AI.
- The "Unhelpful" button is genuinely not helpful at all right now.

I think integrating the AI into the forum search is problematic. While AI generally returns more accurate results with more keywords (more specific prompt), the forum search system actually becomes less accurate as more keywords are added. This combination just doesn't work well together.

In my opinion, it would be better to separate the AI from the forum search and utilize it as a new search system. It could perform high-precision forum searches based on prompts, summarize high-quality threads and posts, and list them. The AI's answers or suggestions would be displayed below that list.

I agree, couldn’t have put it better myself. I don’t know if it’s ready for public consumption :(

There are so many times, in this forum, we need to explain how to raise a ticket via the WiiM Home App.

Asking the AI about how to report an error gives an ok but not complete answer.

There are no mention of that a log is automatically uploaded, so that raising the issue is best done at the time when the issue is present.

The option is also wrongly described as "Feedback", while it's now called "Feedback and Tickets".

Alternativt options could also be described (mail and support site).

It's time for the AI to study some more during the holidays 😁
Maybe split feedback in two in the app? Feedback for just pro and con type comments, and Report A Problem, which creates a ticket including comments and a log. It might eliminate some of the ambiguity. Just a thought.

That's true, but the flipside is that those questions and the helpful responses provided by existing members is, I believe, a big part of how you engage new users and build an actual community.
Nothing like providing AI instead of humans to show you care about customers.....

When I do a search that doesn't have any results in the Forum, then I just get "No results found" and no reply from the AI.

Example:
"What do the Duration option in the Preset do?" -> "No results found"

"Duration" -> The (incomplete) description from the FAQ, plus all Forum posts with Duration in the text.

PS: You cannot test with this search text, as it is now found in the Forum comments.

I searched for preset duration a couple of hours ago and got quite a long ai response.

If there are Forum posts that matches, your get the AI answer. If no Forum posts matches, you don't get any answers.

Can the AI also look into the future?
Do anyone have this independent EQ headphone feature, as described by the AI when searching for EQ for headphones?

"The WiiM Ultra provides a headphone output with a built-in high fidelity headphone amplifier (TPA6120A2). It supports an independent and versatile EQ (equalizer) for the headphone output, allowing you to tailor the audio experience to your preference..."

Edit: There is a support article called "Headphone Out EQ Setup Guide (Feature Coming Soon)" but as it say "coming soon", so should not be described as already available. A typical AI issue, taking text out if context.

Isn’t everything in that article except for “5. Future enhancements” more or less already there via manual entry and smart presets?

Is this working for anyone today? I tried a search for "Home Music Share" and saw search results but no AI results.
