An excellent double series from French Television - Black Hearts - about a special ops group during the fight against ISIS/Daesh.
Great storyline, strong acting. And a brilliant dog in Series 2. Recommended. Currently streaming on BBC 4.

Is it as good as Le Bureau? Or Spiral? I recently watched Les Disparus de la Forêt-Noire because it had a few actors from the latter, but it was grey, dismal and predictable

Just finished watching the recent 8 episode “The Count of Monte Cristo” which I though was a good adaptation, and was at the cinema a few nights ago to see the 50th anniversary showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show…

“Smoke” on Apple TV+ with Taron Egerton as an arson investigator was also good, with a few twists and turns, and a big reveal in the second episode in. Based on a true story I believe

The first season of 1923 was good in parts, the big game hunter thread did stretch credibility at times, while season two was a succession of one major mishap after another. It’s as if the scriptwriters sat down and thought up one bad thing after another to inflict on the main character… Saved by Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren though.

In the same vein/era as 1883, try American Primeval, The English, Godless

Talking of Helen Mirren, she’s good in Mobland - but Tom Hardy is excellent in it as a mobster’s right hand man and enforcer

I liked a British TV drama called 'Fingersmith'. I'd like to watch it again but can't find it on subscription..

Fingersmith is a 2002 historical crime novel set in Victorian-era Britain by Sarah Waters.

I use the JustWatch app to find and track things I watch on TV - it lets you know what service it might be available on in your area. Not sure what regions it covers though…

If you can mirror a device to your TV try

Or indeed watch it on the device itself :)

It’s on BBC iPlayer as Dark Hearts. And I see good old Gilou is in it :)

King & Conqueror. BBC series. Utterly laughable attempt to portray the events of 1066. Rubbish.
Was on my list to watch, don’t think I’ll bother now…

Think I’ll go watch the first series of Karen Pirie based on the Val McDermid books - got half a dozen of the books on my kindle that I haven’t started yet…
