Alexander - Making of a god. Netflix docu drama. The historical commentary provided by academics is interesting, but the dramatised scenes are ludicrous, especially as the actors address each other in a mix of middle & upper-class English accents reminiscent of The Crown or Downton Abbey.

The Abandons - Netflix. 1850s shenanigans over land & mining wealth, starring Gillian Anderson as heartless matriarch . Sort of grungy Western realism with lots of impressive hats, eloquent dialogue and a night-time cattle stampede. Includes the lethal use of a pitchfork wielded by a 'wronged' woman... and the death of a faithful old pooch called Sweetie

Subsequent episodes continue in the same vein. Particularly noticeable is the frequent use of the f-word, both as an expletive and as an adjective.
