Local controls control local volume only when a group lead

I would like the option to have local volume controls adjust only the volume on the local device when that device is a group lead in a speaker group. In my case, I have a WiiM Ultra driving powered speakers and a powered subwoofer in my office. I also have a WiiM Pro connected to my home theater system, one in my garage, a Mini upstairs connected to a powered speaker and a WiiM Sound Lite in my bedroom.

I often start listening to music in my office on the WiiM Ultra. Then I get up to do stuff and want to add the music to the rest of the house. I have an "All Speakers" speaker group I can select to do that. The problem is, if I get back to the office and want to adjust the volume there using the knob on the Ultra or the remote, that adjusts the volume for the whole group. I want to adjust only the volume in the office. The only way I can figure out to do that is using the app, which is quite inconvenient as opposed to just grabbing the remote. Frankly, I also think it is unintuitive. I did not expect my Ultra remote in the office to control the volume for the whole group.

Can you add an option to have local volume controls (knobs, buttons, paired remotes) control only that local device? I think having overall group volume control in the app is useful and would ask to keep that. Perhaps you can keep the existing behavior as default and add an option to have local controls control only the local unit's volume.

Previously, turning the volume knob on a device would adjust that device’s volume. I suspect this change was made in response to requests from some users...
I want it back.

I sent in feedback to request this. I followed up with what I think would be a good way to implement this. I think if they add another column where you pick devices to link to, that lets you pick whether to link the volume or not as well would be a great way to preset this to users. So, when you select a device to link to or add to a group, you can also select whether the volume is linked to the master's volume or not. I'm not sure what the behavior would be for adjusting the group volume in the app then though. Hmm. The devil is in the details... Maybe just a single checkbox to use the master's local volume control for group volume control when linking or defining a group instead....
