I just installed my Ultra 2 nights ago. Each time I start a listening session I have to restart my phone and the Ultra in order to pair them up, as if it's a new install. No similar problems with any other gear in the house.App couldn't find my device, advised to unplug and it reset no problem. Annoying but not catastrophic. Also had to do the same when Ultra appeared to be working but had no sound. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this recently?
There is no parings between the WiiMs and your phone. The phone will discover the WiiM devices each time you start the WiiM Home App, using the uPnP protocol.I just installed my Ultra 2 nights ago. What I've discovered is that the Ultra must be turned on first, then the Wiim app on my phone. 100% success rate since figuring this out. There is no parings between the WiiMs and your phone. The phone will discover the WiiM devices each time you start the WiiM Home App, using the uPnP protocol.
This do however require that the phone and the WiiM device is on the same logical network.
A new install uses a peer to peer connection directly between the phone and the WiiM (over WiFi). This is only used once at setup, so if you see this every time, the setup didn't finish or the network setup was wrong.
What do you mean by that the Ultra must be turned on? Do you remove power? What I've discovered is that the Ultra must be turned on first, then the Wiim app on my phone. 100% success rate since figuring this out.
I put it in standby with the remote when no in use. I've found that if I start the app while the Ultra is in standby, they can't "find" each other, which then requires both my phone and the Ultra to be restarted - pain in the @ss.What do you mean by that the Ultra must be turned on? Of course the WiiM Home App cannot find the WiiM if it is not powered on.
Normally it's just in standby mode when not used.
That's still not the expected behaviour. Normally, the WiiM Home app can wake up the WiiM Ultra from standby, no problem.I put it in standby with the remote when no in use.
