Hi,

I'm a new Ultra owner and have managed to set it up a resolve most of my questions myself.

So far I am very impressed with it, but I have a couple of questions that I haven't been able to find the answers too.

Is it possible to set an input as a favourite? My line in is for a cd player, I would like to set line in as a preset.

Should Auto sensing automatically change to line in when I turn my cd player on and press play? Currently it doesn't.

Is it possible to display now playing in the TV? The Ultra is contected to my avr.

I hope all that makes sense

TIA

Not as yet, but the upcoming smart preset feature may facilitate that

It should if you have enabled it for line in under the audio input settings of your WiiM

No, the HDMI ARC connection is solely for accepting audio from your tv, not to send video to it.

Perfect, thank you for the fast response.

I just checked the auto sensing and it does work although a little delayed.

I'm guessing for my AVR to turn on at the same time I would need to use the trigger input? Unfortunately my AVR doesn't have an option for that

There devices like this which would power your avr from a trigger, but I guess it depends if your avr powers up into standby mode.

Again thanks,

I'm considering getting a audio amp just for the wiim instead of using my AVR for music. I was looking at the fosi za3 which has a trigger input, paired with some bookshelf speakers instead of using the avr and floor standing speakers I have for my surround. I've just been a little dubious as all the YouTube reviews seem positively biased.

I only have a small room to fill with sound

There have been a few threads talking about a suitable amp for the Ultra, including

There are probably some others as well

Thanks, I'll take a read, my final question is do you get a notification when there has been a software/firmware update, rather than looking at the roadmap or release notes?

Yeah, a little green arrow appears against the device name on the devices page, or go into the device settings/ device info/ check for updates.

Note that firmware updates are rolled out over the estate over a few days so don’t expect one to immediately appear once news of it is posted or someone else says they have it - you’ll only get it when it’s available for your device.
