I just got this today. I am trying to hook up my SMSL D300 DAC to it. I plug the USB into the amp then into DAC. I select USB on the DAC. The amp sees it but when I switch it from speaker out to USB I have no volume. Any ideas?

Just the obvious!
Does the dac show it's getting a signal?
Is the dac set to the right output? Variable or fixed?
Is the amp volume up loud?

And perhaps a silly question - what's the dac connected to? i.e. what's driving the speakers?
Wouldn't that be the point of an amp pro, or are you using it purely as a streamer for usb out?

The amp shows the option of selecting the DAC. I have the set to USB. The amp is powering the speakers. I don't know what variable or fixed is, I am sorry. I use the hmdi arc for tv. The volume of the amp is quiet no matter the volume. If I unplug USB I get sound right when it switches to speaker out. Another thing I noticed is crackling at times. I only have the USB connected on the DAC nothing else.

That's it, only the USB. do I need to run rcas or optical back to amp from the DAC. I just thought of that, am I am complete idiot?🤓
No.
The DAC is useless without an amplifier downstream.
Think of it like this
Digital Source -> DAC -> Amplifier
Examples
CD Player -> DAC -> Amplifier
WiiM Pro -> DAC -> Amplifier

It’s the choice of WiiM AMP that the confusion. You can use the AMP as the source to the DAC but you will need another amplifier downstream. Defeats the purpose of the Amp somewhat.
