Well, it was an unexpected purchase, even though I've been coveting one for months. Or a Wiim amp - it didn't matter really.

I eventually bit the bullet and went for the Pro - to be used in my kitchen for parties and more likely casual listening when I'm cooking. I was running a Denon RCD-M38DAB with a pair of B&W M1 satellites and a Linn Komponent 120 sub (mainly because it's flat and sits on top of our tall cupboards).

Plugging in the Wiim Amp Pro, setting it up and sorting out the crossovers and room correction.....bloody hell....it's never sounded so good. The clarity and the depth of sound in my room sounds amazing. I think the Denon passed the sub signal out without a filter to the smaller speakers, so it was a kind of free for all, frequency wise...

I listened to a bit of Trouble Remastered, which was new to me and I did actually enjoy, then a bit of Richard Dawson/Circle and then, dare I say it, some home made dark electronic/ambient music made by my own size 10's. Thirty Ghosts if you're interested - available on most services.

This wee (wiim) amp has transformed my listening experience, and the Denon will be on ebay fairly soon......also, the banana plugs I had before were too wide for the Wiim.

Also, I can't get over how small this thing is.....weighty though!

My experience also. My house has bathroom speakers from the ~1990s, haven't taken the grilles off but I always assume nothing special, just builder grade whatever. They sounded good enough on Sonos.
But after running room correction... holy crap. The bathroom actually sounds good!

Holy crap! 😄

Does that mean EVERY crap in your bathroom becomes holy? Interested how the Catholic Church will test 😉

BathRoom correction!

Further to my last post, I've been playing a bit with various settings and setups and I can't quite believe this thing is so flexible. Reminds me of early days with old Squeezebox devices (which I still own!). Installed Lyrion server on Trunas and that also works like a charm. I've also got Plex working as well. I don't think I'll be using all these different ways of streaming music, but it's fun to set them up all the same.

I've played quite a bit with room correction settings and using different devices as well. My first attempt using my Pixel 9 Pro still sounds good, quite crisp and not too much bass. I then tried with an M1 Macbook Air - not that great really, so deleted pretty quick. Then tried my Pioneer AVR set up mic plugged into a USB C dac into the Pixel - again not that great, deleted.

Then I used my SoundID Reference mic with the calibration file into an Audient Evo 8 interface to give it the 48v. Much smoother curve, although there's still a bit of compensation from 160hz to 244hz as my room (kitchen) must be quite lively there. On average between the 3 points a -2.2dB cut. I've just signed up to the beta for the L/R correction so I'll play with that if it comes through.

And last night, I've been playing with grouping the Amp Pro with a Chromecast Audio, using various streaming apps and it works better than I'd hoped. I tried to group a Sonos One with the Wiim in Alexa but there's seemingly a limitation in the Sonos. That'll be getting sold, so I bought an old Loewe Airspeaker on ebay for peanuts and just gonna plug the Chromecast into that for now in the dining area in my living room so it can play in sync with the Wiim in the kitchen.

Happy days indeed!
