Newbie with Ultra. cover art?

Hi guys.
Just newbie wwith wiim ultra. Really a great product.
But just some dudes.
I have connected through optical out to my Yamaha AVR.
Playing spotify via wifi it shows cover art without problem, but when I connect wiim with the others amazon speakers in a multiroom, cover art dissapear.

Also no cover art with line in input, only shows line in icon or VU.

What can I do to show always cover art?

You cannot get cover art on line input. There is no Meta Data (like cover art) in an analog signal.

If WiiM devices are linked there are cover art and other track information.

How do you connect to Amazon speakers?

So not as a WiiM Linked group?

Unfortunately I don't have any experience with Alex but I guess that there is no exchange of Meta Data with the WiiM.

Please raise a ticket to WiiM using the "Feedback" option in WiiM Home App when you see the issue. The ticket will include the log data from the WiiM Ultra and the WiiM Team will be able to inspect it.

Alexa multi room groups do contain the necessary info. I’ll try this later but I’d guess @Wiimer would already have first hand experience of this or similar.

Can you please elaborate on the connection method for this. Is it a multi-room group created in the Alexa app?

I have never done it. I just tried it and it doesn't appear to work.

Do echo devices ever show cover art and track info? Mine never shows any track info for BBC Sounds.

Well, it’s worse than I thought…

I created an Alexa MRM comprising my WiiM Ultra, Echo Show 15 and Echo Dot and cast to that using Spotify Connect from the Spotify app. While the music plays to the group fine, not only is there no artwork on the Ultra, but no indication it’s actually playing in the WiiM Home app (“no music selected”) nor anything on the touchscreen other than it lights up and shows the standby screen. I had hoped it would at least show it’s processing a stream, if not actually show the track details and artwork as happens on the Show 15.

I’ve submitted a ticket to WiiM and I suggest you do the same so they can inspect our logs and hopefully rectify this.

I will note however that I’m on the Dolby Digital beta firmware, so that might be having an impact in my case.
