I use the autosensing feature for HDMi and optical and today when start using the optical there was no sound over optical ( changing input in WiiM App was without success).

The only difference was to restart the AMP and than everything was fine.

The last time the device was used was over HDMi

Sometimes a restart after a firmware update can help resolve issues. If the problem recurs, submit a ticket to WiiM via the app

Than why imho not restart the device as routine after a firmware update? But yeah there was a firmware update involved!
Thx for the reply and have a nice day.

And most of the time that reboot is all that it needed.

But sometimes a hard restart is required. It's certainly not intended to be like that but an unexpected side effect. Cutting and re-connecting the mains supply cannot be performed by the firmware update procedure, of course. :)

I have the same problem. Optical signal just died. Firstly, I restarted device with power off and then it worked.
Then two days ago it happened again. I tried with reboot device option in Wiim Home app and it also worked.

So why is this happening? Because of the firmware update?

Does anyone have solutions for this? Because we will all agree that it is stupid to restart the device every once in a while.

No, we don't. :)

It would be stupid having to restart it every day, yes. We can agree on that. A full power cycle after e.g. a firmware update may not be ideal, but it's certainly not completely unreasonable, once in a while. ;)

Having said that I have no idea if the problem you observed really is related to a firmware update or not. Checking optical cables for tight and secure fit is also a good idea. The toslink connector isn't the mechanically best ever designed.

I have been having the same issue as OP across firmware updates, still no fix to this day. It will work when I switch to optical. Then the next day, if I start playback again, it will be muted. Switching inputs, playing-pausing, nothing fixes it. Only a reboot will resume optical playback.

I've been seeing dropouts with the WiiM Pro. This only began with the January OS release.

When that happens, restarting the WiiM Pro brings back normal functioning. I hope a new OS release fixes it.

Hi matjolic, Horsey

Please kindly send us a feedback ticket from the WiiM Home App by going to the ‘Setting' tab > 'Feedback.' We'll look at this issue immediately and resolve it soon. Thank you again for your patience and support!
