(Not a poll 😉) 100% volume control versus WiiM control

Hi Smarts

Simple question - your thoughts on 100% volume control versus WiiM control? I prefer to control via the app but find it hard to play it LOUD and devialet’s volume control is sorta kludge.
What do you folks prefer?

1.Generally I think it is better to keep DAC at fixed volume (100%) - better SINAD, and make VC on pre or amp side.
2. I am using DAC as pre, going to power amp directly, so I must use DAC for VC ....
3. I do not like at the same time to use DAC as VC, because there was (not once) situation where VC (software or digitally controlled in lot dac devices) accidentally goes to 100% volume and burn, speakers, amp, or your ears...
4. So solution is to have some kind of pre or analogue volume control in between, which I also do not like ....

so we all have to find best solution/compromise for our systems..
