Hi. I'd love the ability to edit USB-connected media through the app instead of having to disconnect it & hook it up to a laptop or desktop to do a simple deletion or change a piece of artwork. Thanks.

Not another tagger pleeease. We have enough of those.
An NAS as a central data unit for all is what will solve your problem.
An accessible directory on your PC/Laptop would serve the same purpose. You would just have to keep it up and running.

Bit of a strange reply - what is the point of splashing out on further hardware if a potentially fairly straightforward app update would allow editing and deletion of these files?
Also, what taggers work directly with usb attached storage on Wiim products?
None.
Unless WiiM make attached USB devices availabe as network shares.
Then it would act as a NAS and could be accessed by your PC and the tagging app installed there.
Making the WiiM app a tagger would be the wrong way. They could never do it properly, good tagging is too elaborate for that.
Comes back to what’s often said - the USB media drive support is (currently?) best suited to a moderately sized static library. Anything beyond that is better served by a NAS/server based solution.

I respect your opinion, but that's all it is.
I find it inconvenient to disconnect the hard-drive from the Wiim everytime I want to delete a track or edit something and merely want to propose that they make it easier. That's all.

I have another suggestion for a minimalist setup.
Fritzbox routers have USB ports for use with their built in NAS function. Other routers may also have that, but I don‘t know.
You can access this via SMB from the WiiM. The downside is that this NAS is very slooow for copying files.
In general this works. I‘ve done it with another streaming setup. BUT I failed to establish any SMB connection with the WiiM so far even though the option exists in WiiM menu. I will have to look into that again.
