I'm considering moving from LMS/SqueezeDSP on a Mac mini to a WiiM Pro/Ultra, feeding a Chord Qutest via optical. I want to replicate my PEQ setup including a −2 dB offset for Inter-Sample Peak headroom.
I have three questions:
1. Headroom — Is Pre-Gain (under Audio Input) the correct place to apply −2 dB ISP headroom, or should it be set elsewhere in the DSP chain?
2. Optical output — When PEQ and gain settings are active, is the processed signal transmitted via optical (and other digital outputs) to a downstream DAC, or does DSP only affect the analogue outputs?
3. Verification — Is there a way to confirm PEQ is actively processing during playback — a signal path indicator or similar?
Advice from anyone running WiiM as a transport with an external DAC would be especially welcome.
