I love the search history.

When I am at my house, I see the search history for my house. When I go to a friend's with wiim it greys out the search history from my house, but highlights search history I have done there.

Sometimes I go to someone's home who doesn't have a wiim, and I want to remember something I played, but no history shows up and I really wish it did.

It appears that the search history is kept on my phone and not on each wiim device, because all search history shows up on the phone, with some greyed out depending on which wiim device I am connected to.

So my request is can the search history always be shown (as greyed out) when the app is not in contact with any wiim device? That would be great!

Here the WiiM team makes an interesting statement.

They do not mention search history, but if this happens your request may be fulfilled.😄

@RyanWithWiim,
To me the voting system in this forum seems pointless. What is the value of anonymous voting? 🤔

I believe we can make it so people have to be logged in to vote. Do you think that'd have more value? In general, we try to consider higher voted ideas first, but it's a little tricky with so many overlapping requests that get posted. One of the things I'm hoping our Curators will be able to help with, assuming we have enough of them, is to merge the requests together when they're for the same thing. That way the votes get put together.

I'll bite. I asked about play history. What does that have to do with voting? And what even is voting? I'm new to the forum.

best regards,

Chris

Just having a very off topic conversation in this thread... At the top, next to your post, there's an up and down arrow for people to use to vote on this suggestion. Our team checks out the things that get the most votes (and everything else to be honest) to see what people are most interested in.

I did not know that guests could vote.

If I may be so presumptuous as to express my opinion, I see two flaws in this voting system.

  1. No one knows the reason for a negative vote.
  2. In a (small) community, it is easy to vote in favor of a post by an influential person (conversely, many posts by newcomers are easily overlooked or voted against.)
My concern is that newcomers will be demotivated by negative votes and quit submitting.

I think one of the problems could be solved by eliminating negative voting. Or modify it so that only the number of affirmative votes is shown on the forum. (In this case, voting by guests would not be a problem.)

However, if there is no problem with the current voting system for WiiM Team, then there is no room for me to interfere.

Thank you 🤗

And like that, no one can downvote.

I agree, I have never seen the point in negative voting in this context, a not bothered is the same as a no for the purpose of feature requests.

Yeah, really the upvote is a way for us to see "how many people are interested in this". In that context, a downvote isn't very useful.
